Lab Animal Handling and its Application in Biomedical Research
The Government College University Faisalabad's Department of Physiology scheduled the Two Days National Symposium & Hands on Practice on Lab Animal Handling and Its Applications in Biomedical Research, which occurred on February 17–18, 2022. The purpose of the event was the handling of lab animals, and the goal was to increase knowledge about experimentation and sampling techniques. The featured presenters of the Symposium were Dr. Haseeb Anwar, Dr. Muhammad Ali, Dr. Ghulam Hussain, Dr. M. Naeem Faisal and Dr. Mahr-un-Nisa.
The second day included practical training sessions. Dr. Muhammad Ali has imparted his expertise on proper animal care techniques, mouse breeding, blood collection, and biochemical tests. Dr. Ghulam Hussain demonstrated a model of nerve injury in the second session. He discussed the sciatic nerve and potential physical indicators of the lesion. Dr. Haseeb Anwar conducted the third session after that and explained the endocrine system. he showed a simulation about tissue preservation and sampling. Dr. Humaira Muzaffar took the final session, during which she conducted an ECG on a rat model.
